Project 4: Planning Student Assembly (PSA)

As a planner, I am so glad to be a member involved in this BIG PLANNING EVENT. Especially, I am a foreigner. BUT I am quite enjoying in this planning student event.
I like Planning Student Assembly. Therefore I would like to join this big preparation.

Last semester, I remembered we were second year planning student, and we had a first draft meeting in our planning studio. I was very happy to be a member of sponsorship group.
Considering we will hold this event in October 2011, I started our tasks in MY TRAINNING PERIOD.
Because of many company head quarter office located in Kuala Lumpur and Penang, I traveled both Kuala Lumpur and Penang. Because I have to meet with my leader Soondoors to discuss and report my process.
But I kept in touch with Soondoors by emails, phones and messages, when I was working in my office.
I would like to say, it is very difficult to find sponsors and talk to them, especially during big Hari Raya Festival. People were fasting during that time.

And for Psa Event, I also traveled from Kuala Lumpur to Penang several times to discuss with Soondoors, who is my leader.

And I helped to collect this sponsorships.

Then during this event, I helped to make our souvinors with out studio mates.

Project 1: Concept Plan

We decided that our concept plan name is Harmony Kampung.

Objectives

•   To develop the existing community without being

    displaced

•   To improve sustained secure quality live for

     individuals

•   To improve access status of basic infrastructure

     and services

     In our case of upgrading village, it might solve lack of infrastructures and services in urban plots, then the ability of low income group to have standard housing needs in urban area. And it will be convenient to enjoy urban services in this village. 

But the participation of the whole community is an important part for upgrading process.

Because of providing commercial areas, lastly it can help village people to increase income earning opportunities and the general economic health of a community.

Project 1: Kampung Bagan Dalam

This is our final presentation about our site analysis of Kampung Bagan Dalam.

We presented our first draft powerpoint show. it is not good..

After we studied and site visited our area, it is a basic way that we can show how we study about all the information on our location.

               As an important part of the planning process, we try to conclude overall aspects in our site analysis. We spent time viewing on our site, as well as we collect the primary and the secondary data what we need. And next we try to get statistics of our site for data collection( data which is from MPSP , JPBD and JKKK etc..

               Data analysis is used to state issues and problems in detail. Combined with the result of viewing site, we can access to identify properly issues and problems, the potential zone,etc.

Project 2: My personal Research

Talking about my personal research, I would like to choose a field in Public Trasport of Penang. Because of the diversity of public transport in Penang, it is more in detail to show the public transport in Penang.

My research topic is "Access to Public Transport: A case study in Penang". As considering different types of Public Transport in Penang and discussing with Lecturers, I decided to do a special subject for Penang Ferry as the main case.
